During the KMO 2006 in Bad Salzuflen (March 15 to 18), the injection moulding machine specialist with clamping forces up to 1000 kN will once again present interesting demonstrations. "Together with Messrs. Staubli TEC-Systems GmbH and Messrs. Ludwig Schleicher GmbH, we have developed a very interesting application for the new BOY 55 M VV insert moulding machine which we will be showing in booth C 7.1. This automatic production cell will certainly be one of the highlights at the exhibition in Bad Salzuflen", comments Michael Kleinebrahm, Manager of Process Engineering at BOY.
Automation - from feeding and cover-moulding to demoulding
During the four days of the exhibition, the BOY 55 M VV insert moulding machine will over-mould four different sized hexagon socket screw pins. An integrated robot will insert by size the four pins into the mould. Following the over-moulding process, the robotic arm will remove the four moulded pins and separate the sprues. Next, the robot will position the finished hexagon socket screw keys into a holder (moulded simultaneously) and will then put the complete tool set aside for storage. "Together with our partners, we have designed a complete production unit which, aside from presenting an outstanding technical solution, underscores the advantages of BOY injection moulding machines. Their compact design, which includes the ability to mount and integrate peripheral equipment directly on the machine, is one of many outstanding features. Generous mould space and a fixed lower platen all add up to an entirely convincing machine and production cell", comments Thomas Breiden, Head of Marketing at BOY.
Technically competent
Besides the fully automatic BOY 55 M VV, a BOY 22 A will be exhibited in the BOY booth C 7.1 in Hall 20. On a BOY 22 A with a 4-cavity mould, a technical part (part weight 0.023 g) will be produced in the BOY booth. The machine, well proven over the years for just such applications, is equipped with the new sprue sorting system and the high-end Procan CT control. Operated via touch screen and designed with extensive process control, the Procan CT simplifies the production of very precise parts and complex production cycles.
Messrs. Geiger Handling GmbH & Co. KG will present still another BOY injection moulding machine. Their new integral picker will be shown on a BOY 22 M. The demoulding system, a joint development inspired by BOY, is positioned in the safety housing of the BOY 22 M. It will separate the sprues and drop them into a separate bin.
