Reza Sadri, executive director of Tabriz Petrochemical Complex (TPC), said that the production capacity of polystyrene and ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) units is going to be doubled in the coming years. This project is a joint venture between Korean company and Sadra of Iran.
The cost of development plan is estimated to be around $31m and would inccrease the ABS production capacity from current 35,000 to 70,000 tons within two years.
The daily nominal capacity of the complex comes around 80,000 tons, that includes petrochemical products , largest portion of which being polyethylene, polystyrene and ABS constitute. Sadri said that the total production from March 21 to December 21 in 2005, was 600,000 tons and emphasised about the rise in the export during this period by $10m compared to 2004.
