Hyperkote® EMH85A, a new sprayable elastomer produced by Hyperlast Limited (the UK based polyurethane specialist), is helping Newport-based motor garage, Dawn & Dusk Ltd, to provide added protection against corrosion on its customers' 4x4 and commercial vehicles.
When looking for a spray-on liner, Dawn & Dusk approached Hyperlast, who were able to develop a new product that met its material needs and exceeded expectations in both properties and functions.
Application of the 'Hyperkote' EMH85A is relatively simple with use of low-pressure dual component dispensing equipment. Dawn & Dusk has received excellent feedback on performance of the coating in terms of durability and toughness. Customers say that the coating provides a professional finish, and has added benefits such as reducing noise during transit.
Dawn & Dusk applies 'Hyperkote' EMH85A coatings on Truck beds and other vehicles to protect against cracks, chips, scuffs and corrosion. Dawn & Dusk are currently evaluating further applications where there is a requirement to protect. Due the versatility of the EMH85A, it can be applied to a variety of substrates including steel, timber & concrete.
Available in a range of colours, 'Hyperkote' EMH85A is a high build , solvent free a, fast reacting polymer that can be applied quickly and easily to prolong the life of vehicles & structures. 'Hyperkote' EMH85A is durable, has high abrasion resistance and when applied, has a high coefficient of friction & can provide an anti-slip finish, which will, in practical terms, stop objects such as toolboxes rattling around when carried in the back of a coated vehicle.
As well as the above automotive applications, 'Hyperkote' can be applied in a low friction finish that has good abrasion resistance and allows easy unloading of particulate materials. Examples of these are used by local authorities on gritting vehicles, by manufacturers of railway wagons and anywhere there is a need to protect metalwork.
