High-performance Polymers and Liquid Colors of Degussa

At PLAST 06 in Milan, Hall 24, Booth A06/B05, Degussa AG, Dusseldorf, will present itself as a reliable and innovative partner offering service packages and solutions for the plastics industry. Degussa's exhibit will focus on the use of high-performance compounds, a new amorphous polyalphaolefin and an innovative technology for the efficient coloring of plastics with a liquid color system.
The presentation in the 144-m2 booth will show how compounds are used in the automotive, medical technology, optics, sports and leisure, household appliance, telecommunications and electronics, and construction and lighting industries. The two exhibiting business units High Performance Polymers and Methacrylates manufacture customized compounds based on PMMA (PLEXIGLAS®, PLEXALLOY® und CYROLITE®), polyamide 12 (VESTAMID®) and transparent polyamides (TROGAMID®), polybutylene terephthalate (VESTODUR®), and polyether ether ketones, that are presented for the first time. All compounds show precisely defined functionality that satisfy the high demands of designers as much as they satisfy technical requirements for economical processing. The Coatings & Colorants Business Unit will showcase POLYTREND® 7-SeriesTM, the liquid color system for inline-coloring of plastics, that is offered combined with an inline metering and mixing system as a "Solutions to Customers" principle. It is suitable for most plastics processing procedures, such as injection molding and extrusion. At PLAST especially system solutions for polyolefins and polystyrene are presented. On the other hand the business unit introduces the amorphous polyalphaolefin VESTOPLAST® X. Due to its softening point and viscosity the all new product is used for modifying plastics, e.g., for flexible packaging.
