DUDELANGE -- Husky Injection Molding Systems has announced plans to close its Technical Center in the United Kingdom and relocate to a smaller office. The move will allow Husky to increase its Service and Sales presence in the region.
"With this move, we're going to be able to better utilize our resources by adding more people and provide more personal support for local customers," Volker Neuber, Husky's Vice President for Western Europe, said. "We felt we could better serve those customers involved in larger projects, such as automotive, by leveraging the ample resources at our Luxembourg Technical Center."
Husky recently bolstered the capabilities of its Luxembourg Technical Center - the company's European headquarters. The 5,400 m2 facility in Dudelange features a full range of services and equipment, including capacity for six machines up to 2,700 tonnes, a customer training area and parts distribution.
Automotive customers, for example, have access to Husky's full line of large-tonnage machines, including a new In-line Compounding system for fibre-reinforced parts, Quadloc Tandem Index (QTI) system for large automotive applications such as window glazing and overmolded panels and Tandem for matched applications such as door panels. Husky will be showcasing these technologies at an Automotive Open House in Luxembourg in November.
"The Luxembourg Technical Center gives us so much more in terms of space and resources for some of our key markets," Neuber said. "Our customers in the U.K. will notice a greater emphasis on pro-active Service and Sales activities. We are continuing to question everything we do to make sure our approach is aligned with our customers' needs and priorities."
