BARCELONA -- EDV Packaging would like to announce that it has been awarded an SPE 2006 Award to the Best Food Thermoformed Container for its innovative cup for the baby food product Me Gusta for the company Hero Espana, S.A., that was launched in the Spanish market in mid 2004.
The Award Winning Package
EDV Packaging coextrudes and thermoforms the base material at its production plant in Barcelona, Spain, and has designed a modern, exclusive and pragmatic container with a PP/EVOH/PP transparent structure. The precise combination of barriers guarantees excellent thermal stability through a robust sterilisation process. The product is stored at ambient temperature and has a 12 months shelf-life.
The microwaveable package has a diameter of 80mm, a depth of 50mm and a brimfull capacity of 140cc. Moreover, the package ensures properties such as long preservation of packed product and barriers to oxygen and moisture. The cup has been designed with smooth walls to allow consumers to use all the content.
The cup has been hermetically sealed using a peelable aluminium lidding. It has been decorated with a high quality printed label and a thermoformed rigid overcap also decorated with a high-quality printed label. All together the pack has a significant on-shelf presence and is eye-catching and attractive to consumers who are looking for convenience.
