LEVERKUSEN -- With immediate effect, the LANXESS chemicals group has increased its prices for ion exchange resins, technical rubber and ABS plastics. The reasons for the price rises are the continued high cost of the raw materials and the drastic increase in energy and transport expenditure.
LANXESS's Ion Exchange Resins business unit has increased its prices worldwide for the Lewatit® and Ionac® product groups by five to seven percent - depending on the energy and raw material requirement in the manufacture of the grade concerned.
The ion exchange resins Lewatit® and Ionac® are leading brands and are used above all in industrial water treatment, consumer applications, catalysis and chemical processes.
LANXESS's Technical Rubber Products (TRP) business unit has increased its prices for the product groups Baypren® (CR), Buna® EP (EPDM), Krynac®/Perbunan®/Baymod® N (NBR) and Krylene®/Krynol® (E-SBR). The price rise is between EUR 50 and 400 per metric ton, depending on the product group. The areas affected are Europe, Africa, Middle East and Latin America.
LANXESS's technical rubber products are used above all in the automotive, mechanical engineering, construction, electrical and footwear industries.
The Lustran Polymers business unit has increased its prices for the plastics Kunststoffe Novodur®, Lustran® (ABS) and Triax® (PA/ABS) in Europe and Latin America by EUR 150 per metric ton.
LANXESS engineering plastics are used mainly in the automotive industry, in electrical engineering and electronics, in domestic appliances and in medical technology.
