Dow Announces Global Price Increase for Glycidyl Methacrylate
Oct 4, 2006
MIDLAND, Mich. -- Dow Epoxy, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company ("Dow"), is increasing the price for Glycidyl Methacrylate (GMA).
Effective November 1, 2006, or as contract terms allow, Dow will increase the price for GMA by € 250 per metric ton in Europe, and by US$300 per metric ton in the Middle East, Africa and India. The GMA price will also increase by US$300 per metric ton in Latin America and by $0.15 per pound in North America. All other terms and conditions of sale remain unchanged.
Dow has produced GMA since the early 1990s. GMA is known for its dual functionality in that it brings together the weatherability of methacrylics and the chemical resistance of epoxies. As a result of this functionality, GMA is used in a wide selection of formulated coating and resin applications.
Customers interested in learning more about the price increase should contact their local Dow sales representative.
