Prices for Technical Rubber Grades Increase at LANXESS
Oct 6, 2006
LEVERKUSEN -- Effective October 1, 2006, LANXESS's Technical Rubber Products (TRP) business unit has increased its prices for the product groups Baypren® (CR), Buna® EP (EPDM) and Krynac®/Perbunan®/Baymod® N (NBR) and Krylene®/Krynol® (E-SBR). Depending on the product group, the prices will rise by between EUR 50 and 400 per metric ton. The price rises, which affect the regions of Europe, Africa, Middle East and Latin America, are caused by the continued high cost of the raw materials plus soaring energy costs.
LANXESS's technical rubber products are used above all in the automotive, mechanical engineering, construction, electrical and footwear industries. The Technical Rubber Products business unit belongs to the Performance Rubber segment, which achieved total sales of EUR 1.678 billion in fiscal 2005.
