LEVERKUSEN -- Effective November 1, 2006, the Semi-Crystalline Products (SCP) business unit is to increase its prices for its engineering plastics PocanŽ (PBT, PET) by at least EUR 0.12 per kilogram and DurethanŽ (PA 6, PA 66) by at least EUR 0.10 per kilogram. The reason for the price rises, which affect the Europe a region, is the increase in the costs of raw materials, utilities and transportation.
LANXESS's engineering plastics are used above all in the automotive, electrical/electrical engineering and household appliance industries. The Semi-Crystalline Products business unit belongs to the Engineering Plastics segment, which achieved total sales in 2005 of EUR 1.737 billion.
