Zyvex Signs Tiatech as Exclusive Distributor in Japan
Nov 27, 2006
RICHARDSON, Texas -- Zyvex named Tiatech Corporation as the exclusive distributor for their NanoWorks® Tools product line in Japan. Tiatech, is a leader in advanced electrical test equipment integration, specializing in the marketing, sale, importation, commissioning, and support of Semiconductor process/inspection/measurement tools.
The agreement calls for the companies to share marketing, sales, and applications resources for Zyvex's line of Nanomanipulators, NanoEffector® Probes, and Microgrippers. Tiatech will also provide customer care and support.
"Our customers expect advanced product knowledge and research expertise," said Zyvex founder and CEO James R. Von Ehr. "Our cooperative agreement with Tiatech will deliver the level of support expected in the semiconductor industry."
Tiatech customers in Japan's electronics industry are scientists and engineers involved with advanced materials research, semiconductor device and wafer characterization, functional testing, and the production of end products such as electronic assemblies and portable wireless devices. Tiatech provides their customers a combination of precision measurement technology and a rich understanding of their applications to improve the quality, throughput, and yield of their products.
Recognized worldwide as a leader in nanotechnology instrumentation and materials, Zyvex recently announced the new nProber™ which is designed and optimized to electrically probe sub-100nm features on a semiconductor die. The system consists of a Zyvex Nanomanipulator, an FEI Quanta 200 FEG SEM, a Keithley 4200 DC measurement system, a built-in chamber cleaning system (the Zyvex Optimizer), and software to control all the components.
The nProber dramatically increases throughput over existing probing systems in several ways. The semi-automated system has eight closed-loop positioners for increased probing automation. An XYZ encoded center stage provides step and repeat capability allowing the probes to remain in place while the sample is moved to the next bit below. The system can be scripted to perform repeatable processes semi-automatically. A link to CAD software allows point-and-click positioning to any transistor on the die.
Zyvex's nanomanipulation systems comprise flexible, cost-effective, modular R&D tools that are compatible with scanning electron microscopes (SEMs), focused ion beam systems (FIBs), confocal microscopes, and standard upright and inverted optical microscopes. These systems allow for interchangeability of modular sample/structure carriers, combined with interchangeable NanoEffector® tools, providing a wide suite of experimental options - whether the aim is to study meso, micro, nano, or molecular-based structures.
