Plastistrength® and Durastrength® Price Increase Announcements in Europe
Nov 27, 2006
A price increase for Durastrength® Acrylic Impact Modifiers and Plastistrength® Processing Aids is required to offset the continuing escalation of major raw materials, utilities and freight costs and ease the economic strain.
The high raw material cost is driven by an imbalance between demand from the acrylic downstream market and a short monomer supply, as reported by several European producers. At the same time, the petrochemical feedstock value remains high.
Arkema has already absorbed a large portion of these rising costs while responding to the increasing market demand and maintaining high R&D and Customer Service standards as required by the construction industry.
Raw materials availability and strong market demand are expected to result in a very challenging pressure on prices throughout 2007.
Effective December 1st 2007 where contracts and/or Q4 commitments allow, the following price increases will become applicable:
€100/ton for Durastrength® Acrylic Impact Modifiers
€130/ton for Plastistrength® Acrylic Processing Aids
