Through its Building Systems business area, Trelleborg has signed an agreement to acquire Epros GmbH and Epros International Ltd., with approximately 30 employees and annual sales of about SEK 90 million. Epros is privately owned and located in Duisburg, Germany, and St Albans, UK.
Epros is a niche leader in the after-market for pipe systems, specialized in trenchless repairs. The methods to seal leaking pipes and improve structural stability in pipe systems include the use of materials such as impregnated polyester fabrics and EPDM.
"Epros is an excellent complement to our existing pipe seals business," says Peter Suter, President of Trelleborg Building Systems. "When combined with Trelleborg's polymer expertise and infrastructure, the acquisition will enable us to capitalize on the rapidly expanding market for internal pipe sealing. This kind of after-market services has a number of commercial synergies with our other products and services."
The acquisition is expected to be completed in January 2007.
