Atlantis Plastics Announces Closure of Warren, Ohio Plant

ATLANTA -- Atlantis Plastics, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATPL - News) announced the shutdown and permanent closure of its injection molding plant located in Warren, Ohio. Equipment and production volumes at the plant will be transitioned into other existing Atlantis Plastics' facilities. Approximately 30 current employees in Warren, Ohio, will be impacted by the closure. Severance and job transition benefits will be provided to impacted employees. Following one-time shutdown costs, the company anticipates this plant closure and capacity consolidation will result in reduced annual operating expenses and improved production efficiencies.
Atlantis Plastics, Inc. is a leading U.S. manufacturer of polyethylene stretch and custom films and molded plastic products. Stretch films are used to wrap pallets of materials for shipping or storage. Custom films are made-to-order specialty film products used in the industrial and packaging markets. Atlantis' injection molded and profile extruded plastic products are used primarily in the appliance, automotive, agricultural, building supply, and recreational vehicle industries.
